It was our first visit to Ambleside and we weren’t disappointed. We had a meal at Luigi’s which was amazing. The staff were very friendly and I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I am a fussy eater. The weather was glorious so we had a few drinks in the beer garden at the Royal Oak pub. Ambleside was about a 15minute walk from our accommodation, Windermere Rooms at the Wateredge Inn.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10
Great location for exploring central Lake District.
Great location for exploring central Lake District. Lots of interesting shops, bars - even Michelin starred restaurant which was stunning. Lake shore and beaches are lovely - east to hire SUP, canoes, kayak,motor boats.

A very busy place even though it was not peak season. We stayed across the lake from Ambleside and it was much quieter and prettier. Be prepared to pay for parking and toilet access in all public areas in the Lake District and only a credit card is acceptable for payment.JohnAustralia - 10Scored 10

Ambleside is a good starting point for day trips around the lakes. There are plenty of restaurants including a Michelin restaurant...advance booking advised. There is a waterfall 20 minutes walk from the town centre. Pubs with live music most evenings. Windermere is only about 7 minutes by car or half an hour walk.Martin - 10Scored 10

The area itself is amazing, loads of pubs, bars and restaurants around all offering various meals, I would book in advance for most of them to avoid disappointment. Pitch & putt really good or mini golf for families. plenty of walks around and further if you desire. regular bus service to other areas of the lakes.

A kettle with tea, coffee and hot chocolate facilities were included and there was a fridge too. Breakfast was really tasty and we had a couple of options. Located in the center of Ambleside and just a few minutes walk out from the shops and all the restaurants.

The staff were very friendly and efficient and the hotel was in easy reach of Ambleside and the lakeside. Nice huge patio at the front with plenty of seating. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend the Fisherbeck and we’ll definitely be back.
